Most that know me realize I'm normally calm, cool, collected and courteous. But it really PISSES ME OFF when I am making a purchase with my debit/credit card and the cashier asks me for my ID. I know it is for security purposes, but in my eyes it's as if they are simply calling you a liar or a thief.Oddly enough this happened twice to me today at the mall when it usually doesn't at all.The first time cost the waitress a few bucks on her tip, the second time in a shoe store buying shoes for my little girl I lost it........

lol you'd think a guy buying his little girl some shoes was not a guy who has just stolen someone's wallet...

California is indeed a different world than the one in which the rest of us live. It's been awhile since I lived there and have forgotten how banking/credit rules are so different there. In eight years in Chicago, I have NEVER been asked for an ID when using a credit card or debit card.

Instead of signing the back of your credit cards, write "Check ID". Much easier to show your drivers licence to prove its you.

lol RPM......Yeah, ther'es something about that little hamster.....:icon_conf

Kind of like that little monkey on here I told Fish in the past there was something strange about.......>>> :monkey:

About someone stealing a card and being appreciative the cashier or waitress checks for ID, please remember, they don't ALWAYS ask for ID. It would be different if they were consistent with it. When I was sitting there in the booth at the restaurant with my wife and little girl and she asks for my ID when I present the card to pay for the meal, and she asks me for my ID and I say "Jeeez, that's a first" , she then replies, "Well, I like to check them every now and then"..........:movingeye :ughhh:

I use my gf's card all the time. Her name's Lula, I don't really look like a Lula. It wouldn't kill em to at least look at the sig. I've signed some off the wall **** on credit card reciepts.

it's not the waitress or clerks fault... at most places it is company policy to check ID's on card purchases.. ie best buy.. they do it every time

Understood. It does rub you the wrong way sometimes when some 17 year old GED candidate who wants to be somewhere else and has an attitude from hell, gets her kicks out of hastling you about your ID. Like she is the important one here. Had that happen a couple of times and it really burned my azz.
